contributors, embedders, and kernel hackers.

- **[main.tex](main.tex)** — Book entry point. The largest of the three
  practitioner books: install/quickstart/developer setup, build options and
  toolchain, architecture overview (physics engine, feedback loops,
  adaptive systems, pipelining, heartbeat system), the word-ACL design, HAL
  reference and platform implementations, historical L4Re integration
  notes, Raspberry Pi cross-build and ARM64/PGO optimization guides, the
  HOLA protocol spec, and physics control-system design notes.

Built via `make -C docs/formal dev-guide`; output lands at
`docs/formal/build/dev-guide/main.pdf`.
